DTT

picked up the maria and drove to liverpool.

via a delicious sunday roast washed down with blackberry infused aspalls cider, at the george in kilsby.

liverpool is the chicago of britain (another windy city)

thought i'd never been to liverpool before but driving to dinner i remembered i was here last year, shooting pamela anderson (with "it's ring flash or no flash/shoot").

just as i was ordering dinner i remembered that i knew a delightful italian restaurant but couldn't remember where.

(see a pattern forming?)

had to cause an unpleasant scene half way through the dinner we did order elsewhere, on realising maria's fish pie tasted of nothing and my t-bone steak was going to give me CJD.

obviously i refused to pay.
the manager said i had to and that he wasn't in the habit of giving away free food.

'you didn't give away free food', i said, 'we gave you the food back because it was inedible. i'm not in the habit of coming out to dinner and not being able to eat what i order.'

'nobody else has complained today' the manager said
'that's irrelevant: i'm complaining. i know about food, i eat out all the time, and i write about where i eat. if you want me to write about my experience here, make me pay for food i haven't eaten'.
'who do you write for?' said the manager
'i write for myself'
'i'll take the food off the bill'

i paid for drinks and maria left a 7pence tip.
my tip t y'all is 'don't eat at the hub ale house in liverpool'

feeling rough back at the hotel, rendezvoused with bunny and lord hamilton.
considered making myself sick to feel better.
instead had a hot chocolate and half a reasonable burger downstairs and bid everyone 'adieu'

laughed ourselves some kind of stupid with this picture of lord hamilton showing off his bruise from his bicycling accident (and his thin, black willy: hahahaa)

we appear to be sharing our hotel with the 'cast' of DIY SOS.
there was a photo opp to be had here but i couldn't get my stride on.

i also remembered i like liverpool quite a lot.
