the polytechnic of central london final show

in preparation for the oxford union address tomorrow night and the hasselblad workshop next week, we've been trawling a few more old files.

lots of aspiring photographers ask me how i got started.

i started at PCL: the polytechnic of central london, now the university of westminster (but back in the day when it was still in westminster, not harrow)

and i managed NOT to get expelled (narrowly) graduating in 1994 with a desmond (2:2)

here's my final show: small photos of my colourful friends.

note: i was big into branding all the way back then.

it used to be a hand painted banner: now it's pink neon

my name biggest point of interest in the room.
and a picture of ME with the comments book.

i should post some of the comments: several weren't polite: hahahaaaaaaaa.

i think there are only 3 out of 30 students who graduated from the photography, film and television BA hons degree, still working in photography.
good job.
and we all graduated when there were still proper jobs in photography to be had.

also note: my style of photography hasn't really evolved, at all.
i keep finding really old photos that look like i just shot them.

i am coming to the conclusion that we all see the world in the same way as we always have done.

AND these were all time BPS (before photoshop) they are shot on film and straight onto paper.
