rankin

rankin

between 1995 -1996 i used to run corsham street, click studios with james dimmock

just when dazed and confused were starting out and were shooting there.

it's how i got to meet rankin and phil and later got to work on the picture desk.

here's rankin in my 'office' (an old bit of unheated, garage) with pictures of my then girlfriend, juliette, on the pinboard.

phil poynter

phil poynter

sitting by a '10 reasons not to do cocaine' poster, also in my luxurious 'office'

i can't remember the name of the photographer who shot those photocopies on the wall.

but i was talking to kylie about her as i know they were (and still are) friends.

you might know rankin's work already but check out phil's if you don't know it: it's high quality: https://philpoynter.com

phil was always kind to me and always supportive while i was at dazed: he's a gentleman.

back in 1995 was still a kid (like me)

it amuses me that these three frames are adjacent: rankin, then phil then a selfie of me.

like i , as studio assistant, aspired to be part of their gang and photographed myself after photographing them: HA!

some fool aged 25

some fool aged 25

i haven't aged a day.

today i hid from the world, locked down at the bunker and retouched

only eventually stepping out for garter mc connell's book launch in broadway market.

where there were som many bearded bohemian hipsters, i thought i was somewhere in paris in the 60's.

RTB where stan, andrew and maria were turning the bunker from studio into party venue
