blood was spurting out one of the horses' necks in a way it shouldn't have been.
we arrived when the horse's back legs were starting to buckle.
i reckoned she didn't have long to go (not knowing that a horse has LOADS of blood and you can easily drain litres without it having a problem)
mrs.perou fetched bandages and i did some boy scout first aid.

i was going for my field medic badge.
when the vet turned up, they said i should get one.
apparently horse's heads are quite difficult to bandage.

gemma will make a full recovery
the bleeding had stopped by the time the vet arrived.
it's thought she had upended an electric fence stick and then impaled herself on the spikey bit sticking up in the mud.
by accident...not in a suicide attempt.
got the results on my check up.
i'm 100% functioning within the usual parameters
