hello winter

kinda hard to see through the windscreen of the perou-mobile this morning

despite the cold (and rain) work continues at new old house

in the last two days:

the railway side scaffolding came down

blades' floor was rescreeded

five more chandeliers were hung

the west wing's wooden floors were repaired, sanded, stained and polished

repointing on north elevation continues...

when we started this house project, we thought we had a 5 year plan

people have been asking when we'll be finished and i've been saying 'christmas'

then people usually ask 'which christmas?'

by this christmas, we'll be well on the way to being done

the front elevation and windows will need to happen after christmas

and the landscaping in the garden

repairs to the upper-staircase

and probably a new roof at some point in the near future, distressingly.

but it's getting good

we're home

(and at least we have heating this year)
