took a fast train to newcastle.
stepping out of the station remembered that i've been here before (again)
but in fairness to my failing brain, it was five years ago and i was only in town for a few hours, shooting for BT essence of the entrepreneur.
met up with the inspiring young man: james mcnaughton who set up 'homeless and the arts'.
caught up with james over an 'interesting' newcastle styled italian meal.
the calzone i had was 3/4's full of sliced onion.
the waitress asked me if i'd like bolognese sauce over the top of it?
'ur...no thankyou'
good to eat local food in far off places though
but I would walk 500 miles
walked around and around newcastle.
talking about homeless issues and checking out places.
stopped at the drop in centre with GOD IS LOVE hovering above the food hall.
found some inspiring (not) words...
work it girl
happened to walk past a little photoshoot near the quayside.
walking past told the model to 'work it girl' and then in passing the photographer i shouted back, '200asa at f4 maybe a15th sec and pop in some flash'
as we walked away me and james were laughing saying 'funny they don't know who was just offering the free photo tips' when there was a tentative shout back, 'perou?'
what the chances...?
after finishing with the walkabout, returned with james to catch a drink in 'the tyne bar'.
thought it would rude not to.
drank cider, ate bratwurst.
the tyne at night looks like it's full of tar.
apparently in the daytime too?
walked back to hotel through newcastle centre: girls in micro mini skirts and heels: NO COATS wondering if i might find myself in the middle of an episode of 'street wars' or some 'cops in action'
