MON BON

MON BON

started today's shoot with a young popstar, on the streets of hackney

got into an altercation with a security guard who wouldn't let me photograph the popstar on the steps of the town hall because it was council property.

although this was pretty annoying, it was fair enough: i didn't have a permit.

but to be honest, i don't see why i should need one: we weren't obstructing anyone and weren't damaging anything: it was just a photo of someone there.

what's the big deal?

the security guard, who insisted on blocking my shot, said it was to do with the 'data protection act'

wtf?

carried on shooting, just on the public street, with no lights or tripod: just me and a handheld camera.

then someone from the hackney film services came and told me that i couldn't take photos in hackney without a permit from the hackney council film services.

FUCK.OFF!

and this is where i lost my shit, rather uncooly, considering i was with clients.

the guy from the hackney council film services said 'do you want me to call security?'

'yes' , i said, 'call the f***ing police and let's see if they arrest me for taking photos...
dickhead are you really telling me that i, as a resident of hackney, cannot take photographs of anything in hackney without a permit?'

'yes', said the waste of tax-payers money.

hackney is not a police state, yet.

GRRRRRrrrr.

i had finished there by then anyway.

returned to bunker

shot for the rest of the day and late into the evening.

finished exhausted, shoulder really hurting for the first time in a while and back about to go ping.

cooked pancakes for 5

took pain killers for the first time in long time...
