had been resisting the request to sort out the ugly terracotta tiles on the steps to the cellar

the same steps, sam told me he fell down, drunk on his way into blades in 1977 

but because 'I love Lucy' once I finished tiling the 1100 sq ft cellar floor (zzzzzzz: I got blisters on my fingers) I moved on to the steps...

turns out UNDER the shitty terracotta and a load of crumbly cement, there was/were/are the 'original' stone steps

original to when though?

the back of the house is an extension (maybe victorian?)

so many mysteries: good to uncover a few

we will be cleaning up and keeping these uneven, mis-shaped stone steps

I suggest you use the bannister
