thrilled to have new windows in our bedroom (the old ballroom)

we've almost been here for two years and for the first time, we can actually see out: it's like putting on reading glasses and seeing in focus again

the glass was so dirty it couldn't be cleaned

exact replacement sash windows by brogdale joinery, masterfully fitted by martin of D&M carpentry

apologies to the commuters on platforms who will be afforded a clearer view of me doing a 'life of brian' every morning as I open the shutters in my birthday suit

arched ground floor windows next :o

by this christmas, we'll have replaced or repaired every window in the house, repointed every brick, retiled the roof, had new gas mains, new water mains, new boilers, sanded and sealed all the wooden floors, completely re-wired etc...etc...

took a little longer than we anticipated and we are SO looking forward to being able to kick back and enjoy some time off major worx soon.

this restoration was not as someone voiced last week: 'I thought this was being lottery funded'

and it's not going to be a nightclub (like the good ol' days) as some weed smokers outside the house were overheard saying this week.

or a hotel

we are not American (as was also overheard last week) we just drive American cars, for now.

this is just our house, in the middle of the street
