after some retouching in the hotel in the morning.
and a proper calzone pizza (no sliced onions inside or bolognese sauce on the outside) for lunch
a car came to take us to the airport.
got in and immediately smelt the lemon magic tree.
didn't have the opportunity to get straight out and find alternative transport as i would usually.
i was coincidentally on the phone to special agent kate at the time who, when i mentioned the magic tree and what kind of trouble i was in, told me to 'get a grip, you drama queen'
made maria ask the driver in spanish (almost close enough) to take down the magic tree.
i would have liked him to have thrown it out of the window rather than just hide it from view.
italian men seem very sensitive: he was clearly upset by the request
(like the hotel guy that almost started crying and then started shouting at me when we said we were leaving the other night)

i commented to melinda that she always seems to get frisked going through security at the airport.
"i don't mind...i quite like it...she was quite gentle though...i would have preferred it a bit rougher"
