'twas the queen's diamond jubilee and the biggest river thames pageant for 350 years.
there were thousands of parties and events planned across great britain to celebrate elizabeth's long reign
but of course it was high winds and rain all day: many of the events were washed out.
we, the "queen of dismal"s citizens, are used to such conditions.
if one is planning anything, one should plan for rain.
