HUGE mincemeat and apple slice with pot of clotted cream at mother meldrums

followed by an under-subscribed national trust funday where sons made clay things and badges.

the rain stopped and the sun shone long enough for us to walk down heddon's mouth, some way IN the fast flowing stream.

mum-mum told us a strange (ghost) story about how she once came here to the hunters inn, when she was 17.

and how she had returned much later with dad-dad to show him the inn but it was not as she remembered, at all.

whilst there she noticed a photo of the inn that was there BEFORE the rebulit inn, that she recognised as the inn she had come to before.

only THAT inn had burnt down in 1895.

mum-mum is not that old.
